Phase 1
Arena Circle & Roadway Improvements
Arena Circle was relocated to the outer edge of the parking area in summer 2023. Relocating Arena Circle created two new entrance and exit points on the southwest and northern boundaries of the property. This shift improves traffic flow through the complex and enhances the safety of visitors moving between facilities at The Ranch.
- Construction on three additional minor roads through the campus were completed in summer 2023. The minor roads provide easy access to specific buildings and parking areas. These include:
- Richard Rule Road on the northwest side of the campus, adjacent to the 4-H, Youth, and Community Livestock Arena.
- Show Ring Road on the northeast side of the campus, which allows trailer access from Andalusian Road to the Mac Equipment, Inc. Indoor Arena.
- Clydesdale Parkway on the south side of the campus, which connects to Crossroads Boulevard and offers an additional entrance and exit point for events.
- The relocation provides better control over access and parking coordination during multiple concurrent events. It also allows for the expansion of the core campus to accommodate future buildings.
- The old Arena Circle has become a service road for back-of-house services.
- A temporary access road will be added to Lot AA north to allow for easy access for 4-H, youth and community events at the McKee 4-H Building. The access road will be available for use in early 2024.
- We are looking to increase Lot E to accommodate more guest parking. Also added a dedicated staff parking area.
- Adding easier access from Lot E to Andalusian Road with the expansion of Lot E.
Arena Circle Updates
Arena Circle was completed in summer 2023. Visitors are now advised to use the two new entrances on the southwest and northern boundaries of the property at Andalusian Drive, and Fairgrounds Avenue and Arena Circle. The new intersection light at Andalusian Drive and Fairgrounds Avenue increases safety and efficiency for visitors enter and exiting events. The intersection light at Arena Circle and Fairgrounds Avenue will ease ingress and egress for events and is the new main entrance for the Complex.
The 4-H, Youth, and Community Arena
Since April 2024, The Community Arena has provided a home for The Ranch’s 4-H partners, youth groups, and community members to host livestock events, practices, and educational opportunities year-round. The facility is available primarily to the community at an accessible rate, bringing new opportunities for youth livestock activities to grow and expand, fostering the future of agriculture in Larimer County, and giving youth more chances to learn, grow, and collaborate.
The 41,000-square-foot arena includes:
- A 125 feet by 200 feet indoor arena, complete with bleachers and storage.
- Classrooms with livestock wash areas and educational facilities.
- Supporting event infrastructure such as offices, restrooms, and lobby areas.
MAC Equipment, INC. Indoor Arena
The MAC Equipment, Inc. Indoor Arena has been serving a variety of events at The Ranch Events Complex, from equine and dog shows to 4-H camps and activities. Upgrades to the MAC Arena will benefit event attendees and provide additional space for exhibitors.
The warm-up space inside the MAC Arena has been expanded to 90 feet by 200 feet, extending the covered area the full length of the two pavilions. This expansion more than doubles the warm-up space available to exhibitors, allowing for increased class sizes and smoother operations.
The West Pavilion wash racks, restrooms, and storefront have been reconstructed on the west side of the building, which is now in full use.
Outdoor Riding Arena
Construction of a new outdoor riding arena is currently underway near the 4-H, Youth, and Community Arena. This arena is replacing the Round-Up arena, which will be absorbed into the Lawn expansion. The Ranch is 100 feet by 200 feet with future adjacent bleacher seating. Event managers will have the option to use this arena by itself or in conjunction with the MAC, and a potential Longhorn arena replacement will be constructed adjacent.
The arena is now in use.
RV Hookups
There are 95 new RV hookups built specifically for events at The Ranch. All new spaces will be electric with 50-, 30- and 20-amp hookups. Sanitary sewer lines and water will be available at 40 spaces and a dump station will be available for all other locations. The hookups will only be available during specific events at The Ranch.
Additional RV hookups will allow more on-site campers during the year’s biggest events. For more information about camping during an event.
