Expanding Our Venue for the Future
After revisiting the initial feedback from our community, one request stood out: more outdoor events and festivals. In response, we are excited to announce the expansion of the courtyard into a Great Lawn, designed to host a wide range of activities. This new space will feature additional amenities such as restrooms, concessions, outdoor pavilions, and a state-of-the-art amphitheater. The amphitheater will serve as a versatile venue, perfect for larger concerts, dining experiences, and even outdoor movie nights.
To enhance accessibility, parking will be extended along Fairgrounds Avenue, and Lot E will be expanded to provide even more parking spaces. A slip lane is also being added to Arena Circle to streamline traffic flow, while Andalusian Drive will have an additional lane to improve egress.
The Mac building will benefit from a dedicated back-of-house area with secure fencing, and new parking facilities will be created behind the East and West pavilions. The Roundup will be relocated next to the 4H Youth and Community Building, and the Longhorn Arena will also move to this area. The old arenas will be consolidated into the new Great Lawn, creating more space for events.
By 2026, the transformation will be complete, with the Great Lawn at the heart of a venue that’s designed for greater community engagement and year-round events.
